Šestica has preserved its important mission through centuries - and it has always been a good restaurant, so that due to its past achievements it has earned the honorary title of a legend, and the patina of time draws the prominent contours of a modern restaurant on its face.

One of the oldest restaurants in Ljubljana, which got its first image in 1670, and was immortalised in the comprehensive depiction of Ljubljana by Janez Vajkard Valvasor, represents the magnificent memoirs of three centuries. From an old-fashioned inn, a public house and a shelter for coach drivers and travellers, it has developed into a temple of present-day cuisine. A building, which used to be humbly covered with a thatched roof, located at the Augustine Street 6, which gave origin to its name Šestica, is now becoming a modern culinary environment, focused on the desires of its guests. An individual guest is always in the first place in Šestica. A person, who arrives on his or her own intention! Šestica is a restaurant in which the home-made bread is baked the whole-day long, in which the agile hands of female cooks mould home-made pastry, and in which old recipes represent a respected framework of new culinary trends. An indistinguishable advantage of Šestica, which offers a glorious symphony of taste, colour and scent in its menus, and introduces respect to an individual guest in the aesthetics of service, is a spice, which could be called the “Slovenian essence”, and is present in the Slovenian cultural atmosphere of environment, food and spices.
